One of the reasons why these homes are priced a bit lower is because they are considered to be older homes. Many of the homes were built in the 1960’s but construction continued through the 1980’s. This area is home to families with school age children who attend local schools such as Solana Santa Fe Elementary and Earl Warren Middle School.
Horses are allowed, per county ordinance, and many of the homes have stables which further augments the value. Rancho Del Rio is not gated however which makes it one of the few communities in Rancho Santa Fe that doesn’t have either a gate or a guarded-gate security entrance. Even so, the relatively low prices of the properties might just be worth sacrificing a gate.
