The Bridges: Rancho Santa Fe’s Golf Community Par Excellence

Although all communities within Rancho Santa Fe are bound by strict ordinances and covenants, none are more so than the Bridges. As a community established to preserve the natural landscape, it is not surprising that the center of activity revolves around a Robert Trent Jones II Group signature championship golf course and a 35,000 sq. ft. clubhouse which is modeled after a Tuscan village of long ago. In fact, the clubhouse was awarded the Gold Nugget Award for Best Design.

The Bridges is built on 540 acres which has been parceled to hold 235 to 265 homes, many of which are custom built. While custom homes constructed in recent years sell anywhere from $3 million to $7+ million, custom home sites can be found for $1 million to $2.5 million. Custom homes range in size from 6,000 sq. ft. to 13,000 sq. ft. and are on lots that are between .5 and 2 acres. Since this is a golf oriented community, it goes without saying that there are also custom golf villas which on the low end cost just under $1 million and on the high end may sell for $3.5+ million.

Residents in the community are of all ages, and demographics show that there are singles, couples, retired persons and families with school age children. While most of the Bridges is within the Rancho Santa Fe Elementary School District, all of the community is within the San Dieguito Union High School District.  Of course, there are a few private schools within a short distance as well.

Members of the Bridges Clubhouse can enjoy more than putting a few holes on a fine day as there is also a state of the art fitness center and swimming pool. Although the lots are not large estate sized parcels, this guard gated community has the ‘feel’ of living on an estate simply because of the marvelous landscaping and multitude of amenities, the center of which is golf.
