Senterra, Rancho Santa Fe Designed with Families in Mind
Of the three “Villages of Rancho Santa Fe,” Senterra is not only the largest but also the one designed with families in mind, while the other two villages were built for singles and retirees. The construction actually began in 1986 by one of California’s most renowned builders, Ray Watt. The community was designed by the illustrious Ross Sutherland and it remains a highly prized family oriented community within Rancho Santa Fe.
There are 162 homes in this gated community ranging in size from 2300 sq. ft. to 3600 sq. ft. and the list prices are running anywhere from $1 million to $2+ million. The architecture is done in Spanish Mediterranean and each of the sections in Senterra has its own pool and spa recreational area. Just like any other community there is an elite section which in this case is in the lower section.
While other areas within Rancho Santa Fe may not have much need to know what school district they belong to, this being a family area, schools are an important consideration. The public schools children would be attending include Solana Santa Fe Elementary, Earl Warren Middle School and Torrey Pines High School. It should be noted that Torrey Pines has won national recognition for excellence in education. There are also two private schools within the vicinity, San Dieguito Academy and Canyon Crest Academy.
Although Senterra was designed with the American family in mind, these are not the only residents in the community. Young couples planning families also reside here as do a smattering of empty nesters whose children have since moved out on their own. One of the truly affordable communities within Rancho Santa Fe but still part of the highly coveted community, Senterra may just be where you can carve your niche.
